Two Things I Did During Spring Break

This spring break I went on vacation with my friend, and after that. I just did absolutely nothing for the rest of the break. As soon as spring break started, I went on a vacation to CarlsBad Village with my friend Fischer for three days. During those three days, we went to the Belmont amusement park, we went to the beach we walked downtown, and much more. My favorite thing I did in Carlsbad was just walking around the plaza of many things. After the vacation, I was totally worn out. The second thing I did was absolutely nothing. I slept late, and woke up very late. I spent the rest of the time I had playing basketball, sleeping, and doing whatever my lazy brain wanted to do (which was laying in my bed).

Rad Reading – March

This month, I read the book Miracle On 49th Street written by Mike Lupica. This book is a story about the main character Molly who has a natural gift for basketball, and her best friend NBA star Josh Cameron on the Boston Celtics. Molly’s mom died of cancer recently, and Molly knows something Josh doesn’t know. He is her biological father. Molly tries to convince Josh that he is her biological dad, to be with Josh and not with another family. At first, Josh couldn’t believe it. As the story progresses, Molly finds out why her mother didn’t know her father.

I personally enjoyed the book, and I would recommend it to the people who like basketball. It is really fun to read about the mystery of Molly’s family. The part that I loved is that Molly proves that even when things don’t go as planned, you can still succeed. Even I doubted Molly in the book a lot, but she made lemonade from lemons in this case. The theme of this book is great for people to learn.

In this book, my favorite character in the book was Molly, and her relationship with Josh Cameron. Throughout the entire book, Molly tries convincing Josh that he actually is her father, (he actually is,) but he tries to get his “daughter”out of his life. This relationship proves the fact that Molly is determined, “She was tired of adults telling her that things were going to get better. They had been teller her that since her mom first got sick.” This shows us how Molly never gave up even after the death of her mother.

One of my favorite quotes on the book is on page 204, “All Molly could do was try. If he still couldn’t handle the idea of being a real dad to her if her wanted her to go, well, she’d at least have given it one more shot. This quote is my favorite because the most important things she was trying to do was create a connection with her dad. This is her last hope of Josh accepting Molly as her daughter.

Twenty-Four Hours of Being Invisible

The possibilities are endless when you are invisible for twenty-four hours! The first thing I would do if I were invisible for twenty for hours, I would go to The Marketplace with my friends, and go to target, maybe mess around a little bit. I could go anywhere with my friends, and have a little fun. I would want to do this because hanging out with my friends invisible or not, would still always be a great time. Secondly, I would skip school for the reason being that I am invisible. Being invisible would be an amazing excuse to skip a long day of work. Lastly, I would try what ever I could to where off my invisibility. In my opinion, being invisible is not a great superpower. In the first place, feeling invisible is not a great thing. So being invisible would be even worse. For the rest of the normal days in my life, I would go on to live normally like I have never been invisible for an hour of my life.

Rad Reading – February

This February I finished the book Dark Age written by Pierce Brown. The book is in a universe where there are different races of people based off their colors, size and the place or planet they are from. A young boy named Darrow decided to go on a mission to change the social hierarchy to be a better place. He got surgical plastic surgery to look like a Red color to Gold, and he later changed the world completely. Currently, he is much much older and he possibly put the world into distortion. Right now, Darrow is fighting for the republic while the society is going against him, and the world has been going crazy without any order. No one knows what to expect, but there will be a clear victor some time.

I enjoyed the book a lot. All of the characters felt like real and in depth characters, it was almost like as if the characters were in the real world. The story line was amazing, where there are many point of views and many stories and cliff hangars all in a single book I feel like the author described the change of Servo really well. At first, Servo was a young crazed howler. Now, Servo has then been changed with age and time. He now says no to war, and he also is now married and has settled down in life.

my favorite character from the book is the greatest razor master’s son Lysander au Lune. Lysander has become a heir in exile, and he has returned to the of the world Core. Lysander is Trying extreme hard to bring peace and unity back to the dark society of the world. Lysander has gone on a journey to unite the murky waters of all the Gold families of the Planet and face Darrow face to face over the skies of war battered planet of Mercury. One thing I like about Lysander is that he is wise and knowing. One quote that shows this is, “Lorn au Arcos once said it is the duty of every man to listen to his enemies. When you spoke I listened. Your war is just. Cassius did not believe that, but he is gone. And to honor the dead at the cost of the living is a vanity none of us can afford.”(pg. 527)

my favorite quote from the book is on page 32, “Never deny you enemy a chance for retreat. Victory may cost too much.” This quote is my favorite because even if you win, you can also lose at the same time. Victor is a status, but you may have lossed way to much in the process of trying to come out as victor in war. The quote is gives a lot of truth to the book, and that is why it is my favorite.
